Kylian Mbappe jokes Cameroon have their own Ronaldo after his dad scores in charity match

Kylian Mbappe joked that Cameroon have their own version of Ronaldo after a clip of his dad scoring a charity match went viral.

Playing for Varietes CF against Team Calais at the Stade de l’Epopee in Calais, Wilfried Mbappe came off the bench to score in a charity match full of football legends.

And it was Eden Hazard, who retired last week, with a majestic assist for Kylian's father, pulling off a delightful flick to put him through one-on-one.

With the goal at his mercy, Mbappe Sr sat the goalkeeper down with a dummy, before slotting into an empty net and being congratulated by his teammates.

His superstar son was full of praise on social media as a clip went viral of the goal, joking that Cameroon - where his dad was born - have their own Ronaldo.

Tweeting in French, the Paris Saint-Germain star posted: "Your Cameroonian version is ready… @Ronaldo."

Mbappe Sr started on the bench for the charity side, which had its fair share of elite names.

As well as Hazard, ex-Barcelona star Ludovic Giuly and Arsenal legend Robert Pires starred in a tricky front three.

French coaches Didier Deschamps, 55, and Claude Puel, 62, played alongside ex-Newcastle United ace Yohan Cabaye in midfield.

And the defence was made up of former Real Madrid and Middlesbrough star Christian Karembeu, ex-Bayern Munich ace Daniel Van Buyten, former Manchester United defender Laurent Blanc and ex-Newcastle full-back Mathieu Debuchy.

To top it off, Arsenal legend Jens Lehmann also starred in goal.

The match helped raise around £12,900 for a charity helping children and teenagers in hospital called Pieces Jaunes [Yellow Pieces].

While there were some big names playing, it was Hazard who stole the show with two assists and a goal.

The Belgian only retired last week at the age of 32 after being released by Real Madrid in the summer.

Injuries haunted his time at the Bernabeu, where he looked a shadow of the player that flaunted his magic at Chelsea, but the two-time Premier League champion was keen to entertain the crowd in France.
